Building a Routine You Crave
Dec 07, 2021I don’t know a single person whose life has not changed over the last year. And some of those changes have been life altering & have felt chaotic. Many women are craving stability, safety & peace. But it feels completely out of reach because life keeps happening.
I personally have had changes in my relationships, career, home, health & spirituality. During all of these changes, I have once again been taught the power of routine. Especially my wellness routine & how I care for myself.
If you’ve landed here reading this blog, it’s safe to say you are struggling with building a wellness routine that fits & sticks. Here are some of the reasons I have learned to once again treasure my routine:
- Routine helps you be more intentional & powerful. It helps organize your chaos & move you toward health & wellness.
- Routine helps you view yourself, your health & your wellness holistically.
- Routine increases your gratitude & feelings of self confidence, pride & accomplishment.
- Routine helps you stay focused & on task.
- When life begins to feel like it's “falling apart” or becoming chaotic, your wellness routine will provide you the safety net you need to feel better...to know that you do have control of yourself, even if you can’t control the situations around you.
- Returning to your routine provides the structure you need to correct your perspective.
- Routine helps you stay in your power no matter the circumstances around you.
Ok but HOW?? That’s what you’re here for, right?!
Here are 5 tips to build a wellness routine you CRAVE…
- Pick 3 things that help raise your energy & help you feel your best (i.e. music, dance, writing, prayer, movement, meditation, etc.).
- Make it a ritual. Viewing your wellness routine as a ritual you cherish versus another task you ‘have to get done’ will create a shift in perspective that will make it easier for your brain to accept the change. If you can develop this perspective, your brain will feel more ‘safe’ & not resist as strongly.
- Prepare the night before. Set yourself up for success, no matter what happens by getting ready at night. For example, set out your juicer; put your journal & pen in your favorite spot to get cozy & let it out; lay out your workout clothes; set up your altar for morning meditation; whatever you will need for your routine. This will not only make the morning a little easier for you, it will also prepare your mind letting it know that your routine is a priority. It will also give you reassurance that you are ready to have a successful & intentional day. Watch what this does to your confidence & mindset!!
- Be committed! If you aren’t determined to love yourself more & in more efficient ways, how can you expect to live healthy, well & empowered?!
- Find ways to connect your emotions. You can have your mind all wrapped around this routine, list out the pros & cons, know why it needs to happen. But you won’t do it until your heart is in it. Until you are committed emotionally to your why. Get clear about your why & what is prompting this change in you.
Remember, routine is not another task but a tool to help you set yourself up to have the healthy, well & empowered life you desire.
